There is approximately 1 cup per ounce. When you calculate the amount of popcorn you need for your event, factor in a small margin for loss due to crumbs created during shipping and handling during packaging.
Bulk popcorn is made to order. Shelf life is dependent on how it is handled. When the popcorn is kept airtight, cool and in the dark, the shelf life is 3 months. This can be extended to 9 months under the same conditions with the use of dessicants. Popcorn absorbs moisture from the air and will develop a “stale” chewy texture quickly in a humid environment. Even in a dry environment it will absorb moisture, just a little slower. To prevent this, keep the popcorn airtight. If you are making small bags for an event, ensure you bags are airtight and seal them. Cellophane bags are not air tight. if you are using this type of bag, package the popcorn just before your event or place your small bags in an airtight bag until you are ready to use them. If you wish to extend the shelf life of you bags, you can use food grade dessicant packets. We have these available for purchase if desired.
